Crumpets OOH

You push the lever on the toaster, your crumpet descends into the glowing crevasse. You stare at your warped reflection in the stainless steel. It stares back. The coils glow. The crumpet darkens. You begin to wonder: does this crumpet know its fate? Can it comprehend its own deliciousness? If a crumpet toasts in the forest with no one around, does smell delectable?
